Whats peoples views on dangerous dogs? Recently in the news there have been awful stories of children who have been attacked/killed by dogs, however there are a lot of people who also seem to use the recent publicity on these attacks, to waste police time to complain about neighbours dogs and dogs on on footpaths who growl and snaffle at ankles (normal dog reaction to strangers), making them out to be on the same level as a truly violent dog. Where is the line drawn, and what are peoples opinions on the issue?

The stories that you hear in the news are awful and i think that people definitely need to be more careful if they are going to own such dogs! I don't think anyone that has young children should own them or allow their children near these dogs! It is just too risky as the dogs are so unpredictable! I do think it is a minority of breeds that are dangerous though, most dogs are very loving and friendly. However if you don't know the dog, then you should always be very cautious to start with!

I think your right. I think it's partly your responsability to use your common sense and be cautious if you don'y know a dog, as they are animals at the end of the day. Also, as an owner, if you know your dog can be tempramental, it is your responsability to make sure that people arn't at risk Smile
